I was a teenage barefoot runner: 2 miles a day. Time and life have since taken their toll, and it would be impossible for me today. Even so, I can offer a word of advice: don't run barefoot in the dark. You'd really rather know what you're stepping on.

I'm what you would call a "barefoot" runner (running with Vibrams as opposed to actually running barefoot). I can say that I love it. It feels more natural and I've actually made better progress in my runs than I ever have in any conventional running shoe!

My podiatrist has told me that being barefoot is what ruins your feet, heals, soles. The feet need support of a "good" shoe. The reason people have problems with their feet is because they don't take the time to get the best shoe for their foot type. Who do you believe?
